A. FACLITIES AND SERVICES
Can I manufacture products in the RSFZ?
Investors have a wide range of opportunities to manufacture in the RSFZ. A further package of facilities and incentives is rendered for industries that:
  • Deal with Sudanese exports processing.
  • Reduce imports and increase exports.
  • Transfer updated technology.
  • Create employment opportunities.
  • Feasibly contribute in the domestic social and economic development.
  • Meet strategic domestic demands especially industrial and agricultural inputs.
B. LICENCES
Can I have a license from RSFZ but operate from outside?
RSFZ License allows business performance only within the incentives and facilities consigned by the Free Zone Act.
C. SETTING UP
What is the minimum capital required for establishing a company in the Free Zone?
Investment applications in the RSFZ are approved on feasibility bases rather than capital volume.
D. GENERAL
How long is my residence visa valid?
Investors in the RSFZ get Sudanese residence visas, which are annually renewed.
Can I bring my Family Members?
Investors in the RSFZ are allowed to bring their family members who will enjoy all the residence rights.
How do I bring in Business Visitors?
RSFZ meets all entry visa requirements for overseas visitors to have business visits to investors.
Can I convert my Driving License?
Investors in the RSFZ can use international driving licenses for six months during which their non-Sudanese driving licenses are converted to Sudanese driving licenses.
Do I have to employ nationals in my business?
Investors in the RSFZ have the full right in employment recruitment whether these employees are nationals or from overseas including their family members.
What types of business enterprises are allowed in the RSFZ?
The RSFZ is a multi-purpose Free Zone hosting industrial, commercial and related services activities.
Will the Government or the RSFZ Authority provide the finance for projects in the Free Zone?
Investors in the RSFZ can seek and obtain finance for their projects from operating banks within the Free Zone when they meet and satisfy the prevailing requirements and rules in this respect.
Will the Government protect my product by the imposition of protective duty?
The Free Zone Act provides all protective measures and guarantees to investors in the RSFZ.
Can I establish a branch of my own company?
Yes
Can I be a partner in more than one company?
Investors in the RSFZ are allowed to establish branches for their own companies and they can also be partners in more than one company.
Can I Import and export goods?
Among the major tasks for the RSFZ is the encouragement of importation and exportation of goods from and to the domestic market or overseas markets.
Can I travel between the Sudan cities freely with my residence permit?
With their Sudanese stay permit, investors are free to travel throughout Sudan as well as outside Sudan without any restrictions.
Are there any restrictions on my departure from the country?
No.
Can members of my family work?
Yes.
Can my staff live on my factory premises?
The RSFZ Master Plan is designed accommodating a residential area where staff can live. Staffs are not allowed to live in business premises.
E. CUSTOMS
Who may clear cargo through customs at RSFZ & Port Sudan Terminals or Port Sudan & Khartoum Airport?
The RSFZ authority carries all procedures of cargo clearing from arrival destinations to the free Zone.
What documents do customs need to see?
Essential documents to the customs authority are:
  • Bill Of Lading.
  • Certificate Of Origin.
  • Invoices.
Where is the RSFZ customs office?
The RSFZ has its own customs authority outside the Free Zone gate rendering its services for incoming and outgoing cargo traffic.
What is RSFZ customs’ normal working hours?
The working hours cover between 7 am to 6 p.m.
Once goods have been cleared, what happens next?
All cleared goods from the Free Zone will consequently have free mobility in the domestic market.
